Every year in the 2nd week of September, like clock work, APPLE releases a new or improved product.
This year, was no exception.
Thursday, 10th September 2009
Apple released the latest generation of the iPod Nano, that includes a video camera.
The Washington Post did an article, ‘Head-to-Head: iPod Nano Video vs. Pocket Camcorders’ & made a little comparison between the iPod Nano Video & the Pocket Camcorders.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/09/10/AR2009091003937.html
and the results?
“The Nano shoots better video than most cell phones do–as long as you’re in a well-lit setting–but it can’t quite compete with a pocket camcorder such as Pure Digital’s Flip Mino.”
Apple has always been able to attract the ‘IT geeks’, teenagers, businessmen, almost everyone with their new products or improvements to their products. And that is because as quoted from the Washington Post, ‘Apple products are all about fun, convenience, and simplicity, and the addition of a video camera on a device of this size will be a draw for many people.’
They know what attracts people and a little change in their products every now and then, gets us guessing in anticipation ‘what is Apple going to do next?’. Plus, coming up with something new every year gets us buying a new Ipod or Apple item almost yearly.
So I ask again, what do you think Apple will come up with next year?

I suppose Apple reinvents itself for the music generation (aka MTV gen) which is probably why there are Mac cult group followings (:
Can’t wait to see the new iTablet!

Okay this I’m lazy to comment. Firstly, technology advances exponentially if i were to state technological advancements that are gonna continually baffle us it would take quite abit of writing which i am PRETTY LAZY to commit to.
ANYWAYS microsoft smart move of getting a patent on the multi-touch screen. Cheap technology that is seemingly advanced. So many phones wanna integrate it but can’t, paying for the patent is probably not profitably optimal. It’s a damn profitable technology with tonnes of potential. Imagine being able to create a virtual keyboard from those screens and being able to resize it to your liking. I understand that the touchscreen keyboard is already utilized on handphones but for the iphone users you’ll be able to tell the difference of the iphone from normal screens on touch phones.
Finally, I’m gonna talk about Steve Jobs, for those who dunno who he is nows a great time to at least know. The brains behind the ipod. He is also ex-CEO of PIXAR and in walt disney’s board of directors. Well… facts aside. He is taking a long leave from his duties i wonder how apple is gonna take it from there. His company was practically a one-man show with every decision-making factor having to run through him. If he was ever a fugitive, apple would still be better off having him be CEO in prison than hiring a new one. Which says pretty much how much of a genius he is.
DAMN I TALKED TOO MUCH.
GOODBYE.

I’m off the hook right? I’ll comment again when i’m interested in looking more eccentric. Or in the mood.

Apple has really nailed it this time! And it will be interesting to see what else they do with this device. I won’t be surprised if they shrink the nano and call it pico! But that might not be the most practical thing to do since the screen size will be at stake!

Apple’s really done a good job this time…
The new nano doesn’t only have added perks but it feels different too. It has this smooth metal feeling to it… REALLY SMOOTH. And I guess the people at APPLE have finally listened to their customers and put a RADIO into the ipod, something that I have waited for, for a long time.
The new video Ipod has a video camera, that’s the main focus of this generation but something I have found out while playing with it. Just above the camera is a tiny hole which just so happens to be the speakers. So how the ipod has SPEAKERS!!!
I am very impressed with the new generation and can only anticipate what’s coming in September 2010.

Well, in my opinion, there was nothing really special about the new iPod nano. Think about it: Radio, Video Camera, and thats all. It does not warrant an update from the previous generation of Nanos, having such minimal additions. The new features, although they seems cool, are nothing new. FM receivers for iPods have been around for quite awhile, and video cameras, well you already have that on your phones. Plus, Apple decided not to allow the camera software to take pictures, but only videos, which is quite a questionable decision.
All in all, although I am a big fan of Apple, it seems that their ideas for their iPod nanos and classics are reaching a plateau, and there is only so much they can add in the future. Perhaps the future would instead be the new iPod Touches and iPhones? With the powerful OS on those products, the possiblities are much greater, don’t you think?
